Stuffed Vegetarian Pupusas Recipe

Stuffed Vegetarian Pupusa

Yields 10 pupusa halves

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

½  cup  Minced Cilantro

1/3 cup  Diced White Onion 

Cooking Oil

1 5 count Del Real Foods® Pupusas

1 16oz Del Real Foods® Black Beans, warm¾ cup

1 ½ cups  Shredded Lettuce or Cabbage

1 Del Real Foods® Molcajete Salsa Verde or Roja (¾ cup needed)

1  Avocado, peeled and diced

 

Instructions: 

Combine cilantro and onion. Set aside.

Fill a large skillet with oil, about ½” deep. Place pupusas in skillet and heat each side until golden, about 1 minute per side.

When cool enough to handle, cut each pupusa in half. Split open and fill with a heaping Tablespoon of beans. Fill each half with lettuce or cabbage. Top about 1 Tablespoon each Salsa and avocado. Sprinkle with about 1 teaspoon Cilantro/ Onion mix. Serve immediately.
