Cubano-Inspired Carnitas Sliders

Del Real Carnitas

A simple and quickly prepared rendition of the beloved Cubano sandwich. This version replaces the roasted pork with tasty Del Real Carnitas! In slider form these mini Cubano sandwiches are a crowd pleaser and perfect for a picnic or pool party! The kiddos will love their small size and familiar ingredients too!

  • 1 Package Del Real Carnitas
  • 8 Slider Rolls
  • 16 Slices of Deli Ham
  • 8 Slices of Swiss Cheese
  • 16 Dill Pickle slices
  • ½ Cup Mayo
  • ¼ Cup Course Ground Dijon Mustard
  • ½ stick of butter to toast the rolls

1. Heat the Del Real Carnitas according to package directions. Shred and set aside. 2. In a small bowl combine the mayo and mustard. Set aside. 3. Split the rolls and lightly butter each side. Toast on a griddle, or face down on a cookie sheet in an oven heated to 350 degrees, for about 8-10 minutes. 4. While buns are toasting heat a non-stick skillet and add the ham slices. Don't overcrowd the pan, just do a few pieces at a time. Heat and brown ham on each side for extra flavor. Set aside until ready to assemble sliders. 5. Once buns are toasted slather each side with a dollop of the mayo mustard mixture. 6. Pile a heaping portion of the carnitas onto bottom side of the roll. 7. Arrange two pieces of hot ham atop the carnitas. 8. Top the ham with the swiss cheese. 9. Add 2 slices of pickle on each slider. 10. Place the top bun on the slider and enjoy!
